Beautiful Transients Series
With this series I think through in advance the geometric shapes I want to use. I first draw with pencil the main shapes that form my composition. I erase, draw again, erase, etc. until I hit upon a composition that looks and feels right. Different sizes of geometric shapes with clearly defined lines organize my areas and then in complete contrast, I go into each section and put the paint down, moving it in a strictly organic way until it becomes atmospheric in nature, hence the title. I stop when the gradation is so smooth that barely a mark is left.
